Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are there activities for families not skiing in Furano?
Absolutely! Our cooking classes are perfect while family members are skiing. Take your creations back for an evening tasting party. The combination of "Dad and kids skiing, Mom and grandparents cooking" is very popular.
Q: Can we take home what we make?
Yes! Sausages are vacuum-packed and sweets come in boxes. Sausages keep refrigerated for 3 days or frozen for 1 month. Sweets should be consumed the same day or next day.
Q: Can beginners and children participate?
Children 6 and older are welcome. Our chef provides thorough instruction, so complete beginners can participate with confidence. We teach basics like knife skills from scratch. Minors require guardian accompaniment.
Q: How long does the class take?
Starting at 10:30 AM, classes run approximately 1.5-2 hours, typically ending around 12:00-12:30 PM. Perfect timing for afternoon skiing or sightseeing plans.
Q: Is transportation available?
Yes, pickup service is available from Furano downtown and major pensions (maximum 4 people). For larger groups, please inquire. Mention transportation needs when booking.
Q: Can people with allergies participate?
Unfortunately, those with wheat, egg, or dairy allergies cannot participate. For other food allergies, please consult when booking - we'll accommodate when possible.
Q: Do classes run in rain or snow?
Yes! As an indoor activity, weather doesn't affect classes. Rainy or snowy days are actually great for warm indoor cooking experiences. Perfect as a backup plan when skiing is cancelled due to weather.
Q: Can we book both experiences (sausage & sweets) on different days?
Absolutely! For stays of 3+ nights, we recommend experiencing both. Each offers unique enjoyment and enriches your Furano stay. Mention "attending twice" when booking and we'll coordinate scheduling.
Q: Can we take photos?
Yes, photography is encouraged throughout the experience! Feel free to ask for commemorative photos with the chef. Completed dish photos are welcome for social media - please share using #LaCollinaCooking!
Q: Do we need to bring aprons or cooking tools?
No! We provide everything: aprons, head coverings, and all cooking equipment. Come empty-handed - just wear comfortable clothing.
